My life has been a whirlwind of travel the past week. After the Taste of Home Cooking School in Deadwood, South Dakota (pictured above) I drove to Billings, Montana for a show on Thursday evening. It was a sell out! Here is my view from the demonstration table looking out over the audience of 600+ people.
After the show in Billings and a wonderful dinner out with my cousin, Joyce, who lives in the area, I started the 900 mlle two-day trek home. I traveled through Wyoming and South Dakota on my way back to Iowa. The scenery along the way was just beautiful.
There were signs of spring everywhere.
I arrived at home last night around 8 pm and dropped into bed shortly after. Today, my husband, Scott, and our good friend, Jack, ventured into Des Moines to scout out a local garden nursery. It’s a rainy day here in Iowa, but that didn’t dampen their enthusiasm.
Jack came away with a load of tomato plants.
And, Scott, brought home these beautiful perennials. Now we just need things to dry out a little before we start planting.
Tomorrow I’m off to Bettendorf, Iowa for another Taste of Home Cooking School. Then, I’ll be home for a break so I can do a little digging in our garden and spending time with my family.
